The Bear Ridge Speedway 99ROCK Weekly Racing Series is set to acknowledge the top points finishing competitors in each of its divisions plus the Ridge Runner Hornet Queens for the 43rd consecutive season at the Ridge Saturday night December 11, 2010 at the annual awards banquet. The banquet scheduled to kick into gear at 5:00 will be held at the Lake Morey Inn in Fairlee VT.
On hand will be the top ten finishers for the 2010 Bear Ridge Speedway 99Rock weekly racing series Bond Auto Parts Sportsman Modifieds, Wells River Chevrolet Sportsman Coupes, A Notch Above Auto Limited Late Models, the Journal Opinion Fast Fours, the KDD NAPA Ridge Runner Hornets, and Ridge Runner Hornet Queens. Plus the2010 track champion for the WYKR SCoNE, Dan Douville, will be receiving his championship trophy as well.
A sold out house will be gathered to see the top ten achievers, receiving their accolades for the 2010 racing season. This sold out gathering caps what was a great season at the Ridge with car counts continuing to climb throughout the season as well as fan counts on the rise as well. The first season since, no one can remember for sure, was completed without one rain out, with all 20 events being scored in the record books, saw record rookies taking to the 1/4 mile clay oval, and the return of the famed number 3 coupe of years gone by, on old timers night when Brother Eastman was on hand to take his beautifully restored baby blue coupe around the track for yet another spin.
History will be made with the crowning of the modified and sportsman coupe champions at the annual awards banquet as this will be the first time in the history of the Ridge that a father and son are crowned the kings.
