P&C Car Show huge success!!

If the results of the NEW Location of the Bear Ridge Speedway’s Annual Upper Valley Car Show at P&C Foods in Bradford VT on Lower Plan Road are any indication of what is to be expected for 2009, then hold on to your hats folks, cause this may be the best of seasons seen in a very long time! The day dawned overcast with showers, but by the time the cars and stars, and fans started to arrive the weather was picture perfect for a racing event. If one could hand pick the weather, the number of cars and fans present, this would be exactly what one would choose, and it sure goes a long way to set the tone, mood, and stage for the 2009 99 ROCK wfrd weekly racing series, scheduled to kick into gear Saturday May 9th, with the next car show at Bradford Mini Mart followed by practice at 2:00 pm.
Everyone at the P&C Foods Store had a great day, with plenty of great food prepared by the staff at P&C Foods. The parking lot was overflowing with people, and the cars all looked absolutely stunning. As has been the tradition of this the 8th annual Upper Valley Car show hosted by Bear Ridge Speedway, competitors are invited from tracks that work with and support the Ridge. This year Riverside Speedway’s General Manager Dick Therrien made sure that every division competing at his track was represented, and it was great to see the strong contingent of machines making the trek south to show off their beautiful cars.
P&C Foods went all out for this event, and asked the fans to vote for the best looking machines in each division represented at the show. Gift cards, prizes, and trophies were handed out to a lot of lucky winners. At the end of the show the ballots were counted and the following were voted the best looking in their division: From Riverside Speedway it was the #4 North Country Ford Late Model driven by Paul Schartner III, the #12 Riverbend RV Street Stock driven by Tyler Therrien, the #3 Brothers Used Furniture Angel driven by Lyndsay Christman, and the #99 Kids Only Day Care Youth Racer driven by Erica Beer. From Bear Ridge Speedway it would be the #1D Bond Auto Sportsman Modified driven by Wayne Stearns, the #3 Wells River Chevrolet Sportsman Modified driven by Jason Horniak, the #8 A Notch Above Auto Limited Late Model driven by Danny Eastman, the #12 Journal Opinion Fast Four driven by Andy Johnson, and the #3 KDD NAPA of Bradford Ridge Runner Hornet/P&C Foods Hornet Queen driven by Charlie Lakin (as the Ridge Runner Hornet of course!)
Bear Ridge Speedways wishes to send out a HUGE thank you to every competitor, family member, friend, and fan that helped make this event such a great success, and to extend a very big thank you to all the employees at P&C Foods as well.
